Sweet Fire began as an idea in a kitchen in Central Ohio.

Shoumi loves cooking. A self-taught cook, he likes to believe he can taste a dish in his mind before it exists—much like Remy in Ratatouille. Sweet Fire, the signature flavor of Sweet & Sassy, was born exactly that way: first in imagination.

He set out to create a hot sauce that was not only bold, but also delicious and easy on the palate. In his mind, the character of fresh peppers would mingle with the sweetness of pineapple and mango, balanced by gentle tartness and laced with the deep, earthy note of garlic sautéed in extra virgin olive oil.

Achieving that balance, however, was far from easy. It took time, patience, and many early disappointments—enough at times to nearly abandon the idea altogether.

Persistence paid off. When people finally tasted the sauce, they described it as something different: a hot sauce that is deeply flavorful, with heat that builds gently without overpowering the food. Sweet Fire enhances a dish rather than dominating it, pairing effortlessly with chicken, fish, vegetables, eggs, and countless everyday meals.

Trained as an economist, Shoumi arrived in the United States from the small but flavor-rich country of Bangladesh in the late 1990s. Over the next three decades, he witnessed an explosion of global flavors in the American food scene. Classic staples like Tabasco now share shelf space with sauces from Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico, and beyond. That evolution inspired him to share his own creation—one rooted in balance, curiosity, and joy.

What you should expect from Sweet & Sassy is honesty and authenticity: real ingredients, thoughtful balance, and no shortcuts or gimmicks—just bold, joyful flavor crafted to be shared.

Sweet Fire is our first flavor—but it will not be the last.
